The first Outpatient Mental Health Center of ACIDD in Maryland opened its doors in Laurel, in Prince George’s County, in October 2018. The OMHC has already received its preliminary accreditation by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International in May 2018. It is currently waiting for approval by the Behavioral Health unit of Maryland Department of Health.
ACIDD’s Outpatient Mental Health Center would provide mental health assessments, individual and group therapy, and medication monitoring and management. ACIDD Maryland already provides Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) and Supported Employment to adults. Through our Outpatient Clinic, we would also serve individuals with developmental disabilities who have co-occurring mental health issues (the other- dually diagnosed individuals). Our treatment program is part of an integrated approach that we currently follow.
Our Clinic will have a psychiatrist on board, licensed professional counselors (LCPC), licensed clinical social workers (LCSW and LCSW-C), nurses and nurse practitioners, and Licensed Graduate Social workers/Licensed Graduate Professional Counselors (LGSW and LGPC). Mental health services will be coordinated with other services providers of the recipients of Clinic services.
Please note that ACIDD in Maryland is currently providing Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program Services (PRP) to adults in more than one County. It also has received its 3 years CARF International accreditation in May 2018 Carf-accreditation.
ACIDD Outpatient Mental Health Center would accept Medical Assistance, Medicare and third party insurances.
